High School Star Wars Marathon
Star What? if you want to catch up on your Star Wars history (and you should with the new movie coming soon) you’re invited to come to Pastor Michael’s house for a Star Wars marathon on July 30th. We will watch episodes four through six back to back starting at 4pm and ending about 11pm. All rising high school students and friends are invited and there is no registration cost. Think you have what it takes to be a jedi? If so, “may the force be with you.”
The Next POET Dinner Event
The Spencer Dream Center will be holding a pasta night for us on Friday, July 31st for a cost of $10. At 6:45pm they are going to share with us about the ministries that are happening there. Dinner will be served between 7 and 7:15pm. For people that are unaware of the Dream Center, it is in the old Hotel building in Spencer.
Meals on Wheels
In August our church will deliver meals to community shut-ins. Delivering Meals-On-Wheels takes about 30-45 minutes. You may sign up for any amount of days. Maybe you prefer one day a week, for instance every Monday, or every day for a week or different days during the month.
Substitutes are available so don’t let the fact that you are going to be gone one time stop you from signing up. You pick up the meals at the hospital kitchen at 11:00am. This usually is done with a partner to make the job fun and faster. Meals are delivered every day of the week except Sunday.
Delivering Meals-On-Wheels to our community shut-ins is a rewarding experience and you will be glad you took part in it.
We only have two open days left, August 27th & 28th the “South Route”. If you have any questions or to sign up, please contact Milt Nolting at 336-4336.
Gobble! Gobble! TURKEY SUPPER IS ON THE HORIZON!
At the present time, Marilyn and Ray Miller will be the chairpersons in charge of the supper this year, but we do need to fill the position of co-chairs, as impending health issues are preventing Sharon Caskey from continuing in that capacity. Co-chairs would be in an assisting position this year to Marilyn and Ray, and then move into the head position the following year. We ask that you please give some thought to helping us fill this position quickly.
Please contact Charlene Radcliffe (330-6668) or Cheri at the church office (336-1649) if you have any questions regarding the turkey supper or to volunteer to be the co-chairs.
Greeter/Usher (s) Needed
The Reforming (2nd) Service is in need of Greeters/Ushers from August and beyond. Please contact Bob Peterson or the office if you can assist.
