Your Weekly Update Officer Nomination
Once again, we are starting our annual quest to find a few good men and women who feel called by God to serve as leaders in this congregation. Nominations are being taken for 2017's new class of Elders and Deacons. Nominated persons should be people of obvious faith, vision, sound judgment, good leadership, compassion and personal integrity. Nominated persons will be prayerfully considered during the nominating committee process and those felt to be called at this particular time will be recommended to the congregation for election in January. Thank You
Thanks for your help in bringing items for the Food Pantrys at UDMO and Spirit Life Food Pantry. If you could return your bags this week, it will give those who have not yet participated a chance to donate food items as well. Thanks for your loving support of our local missions.
The Deacons
High School Photo Scavenger Hunt
Join us on Sunday the 23rd for our first photo scavenger hunt! We will meet at the church at 5:00pm and our teams will set off in car groups across town looking to photograph different places and things. We will have a grand prize for most items photographed and several style prizes for the best photographs throughout the night. No RSVP is needed and all you need is your cell phone! We can't wait to see you for this great fellowship event.

Open House Honoring Rev. Charles Gilbert
The family of Rev. Charles D. Gilbert invites the public to an open house in honor of his 50 years of pastoral ministry. The open house is from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park. Calvary United Methodist is the church where Gilbert was ordained.

Thank You
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of you who helped with the Soup, Sandwich, and Pie supper! No matter what role you played, you were important and very much appreciated! We served a total of 614 people, which means that we filled our
dining room almost 4 times over, so we felt it was a great success!
Thanks again and God bless you all for your participation!
Co-chairs: Charlene Radcliffe, Jackie Jenkins, Sharee DenHerder

Recharge Toy Thank You
Thanks to all of the generous donations, we have received enough toys for our K-3rd grade Recharge students. Thank you for sharing your wonderful toys with our youth, they will be greatly enjoyed!

Looking for Singers
The Reforming service is looking for vocalists to join the praise team! If you like to sing and have thought of trying it out, now is the perfect opportunity to join. You can sign up to sing as often as your schedule may allow, and you also get to participate in choosing the music that we sing in church on Sunday. Contact Rachelle Gewecke at (712)314-2292 or rachelle.gewecke@gmail.com to hear more about this fun and important way to get involved in our church family and use the talents God has given you!
