Plans are being finalized for a potential addition of an outdoor meeting space and playground area which would be located to the North of our Fellowship Hall and Kitchen (backside of the building). This area would include a covered concrete area with seating and a firepit, and an area including metal playground equipment and swings that would be accessible and some equipment that could be used by kids with physical difficulties. We hope that this will be a great meeting area for small groups, Bible studies, etc. and that the playground area will be a benefit to our children’s ministry and a good addition for our families and our community.
At this point, final decisions have not been made on the specific play structure or the ground material, but everything will be playground approved for safety, durability, and ongoing maintenance. Please note that pictures displayed are not to scale and do not reflect the actual equipment that will eventually be installed.
The total cost on the full project is expected to be around $75,000 and funding is being pursued through endowments, memorial gifts, and donations. We hope to have funding secured in the near future as to allow us to begin the project this spring. We will keep the congregation updated as we progress.
Tom Ditsworth, our Building Manager, will be overseeing the project and can be reached at Tom@fpcspiritlake.org with any questions.
