First Presbyterian Church has supported Dennis Brockman since 1998 in an evolving series of ministry positions with Cru. Dennis is the son of long-time former members of our congregation, Gene and Jeanette Brockman, who have since gone home to be with the Lord.
In mid-2020, Dennis resigned his full-time position with Cru to assume the Executive Director position for the foundation of their local church called Heart of the City Foundation. Although still an associate member with Cru, Dennis was compensated by the foundation. At that time, Lisa went from limited part time work with Cru to a full-time position developing a third city ministry in Orlando for the national ministry called
Transform Arts.
In addition to establishing the ministry that encourages artists to use their artistic talents to share the Gospel through their passionate work and to provide discipleship encouragement for those they touch.
Lisa, as a former Mormon, has written a book about her transformation from Mormon to Christian that has touched a group of people caught between a strong family culture from the past and a new hope for the future. In her new ministry role, she more formally continues to use her artistic skills to serve her Lord.
Dennis and Lisa have five children, with two adopted daughters from Africa. Their kids are in various stages of marriage, college, and finishing high school. The Transform Arts ministry is ideally suited for her skills and use of her increasingly available time. We welcome her as the lead missionary of our long-time ministry support of the Brockman
family.
