This organization provides a link between families who are in extreme poverty and sponsors who have the means to financially assist children. Their goal is to help very poor children with financial and social support which allows them to attend school. Achieving an education is vital to lifting themselves out of poverty.
Working out of a renovated building in Oaxaca, Mexico, southeast of Mexico City, this group provides social services to approximately 600 children including meals, clothing, medical assistance, social programs, shelter where needed and a chapel. Many individual sponsors are located in Dickinson County were acquainted with the late Cliff Hinderman, a retired Spirit Lake High School Spanish teacher, who helped organize this group.
Making a difference through education with ethnic diverse children has been and is an unqualified success.
