Over the past few years, First Pres has supported the Okoboji200 foundation, which works to raise funds to fight sex trafficking in Iowa and around the world, specifically Nepal. The Okoboji200 Foundation partners in Nepal with Lighthouse Ministries, a local organization that specializes in the prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation of young girls caught up in sex trafficking.
On October 4th we will be privileged to host the founder of Lighthouse Ministries, The Director of Okoboji200, and a special guest who was rescued by Lighthouse Ministries and is recovering under their care. Please join us for this powerful story of making a difference in the lives of those who are victims of unimaginable crimes and greed.
Our program will begin at 6:15pm in the sanctuary and there will be refreshments and fellowship following for any who would like to stay and meet the speakers or pursue further discussion. This is a problem that many would rather ignore, but it is real and widespread and this is an opportunity for us to learn more about these horrible situations and how we can help. We hope to see you there.
