Several chapters come to a head when Jacob and Esau finally meet in their long-awaited showdown. We discover that instead of violence there is peace and instead of division there is reconciliation. We are surprised to find that the man who was bested by his younger brother is ready to forgive, while the youngest is ready to humble himself. This story is a mountaintop of Jacob’s story, and it is a beautiful moment (while it lasts).
